Ive been using klarus lights for 6 or so years now and have never had a problem with them. They hold their charge forever and are super bright. I always take mine on any late hikes or hunting trips because i know its always going to work and wont go dead on me halfway through the walk back.
The Klarus xt11 gt pro makes a great impression in terms of quality. Pretty stable and quite bright. Definitely well suited as a passive tool for self-defense (blind and flee or possibly strike).
