Well, this light does what it does quite well. It has a reasonable amount of light and runtime for use as an ambient camp light and includes a very nice warm white color, about like a campfire. It has other color adjustments as well which may be of more use if more accurate color judgment is needed or perhaps slightly brighter output. It has two switches, basically one on off and mode switch and one switch for the color temperature. Unfortunately the user interface is a little complicated. I continue to give it five stars although I was tempted to take a star off for the complicated user interface but the basic functions are available just by clicking a couple of times on the switches so I let it sit at the five stars. To get to turbo you have to double click the on off switch. There are other functions including a breathing function which are more complicated to get to. I consider those totally useless, but perhaps somebody likes them for some reason. Anyway it's got a nice plastic case, the magnet built into the rotating hoop makes it so that it's easy to mount in lots of different positions for uses of work light. The beam is of course completely flood, no spot at all. It has a four-dot state of charge indicator which is nice and it has a memory function so that it turns on at whatever mode you are previously using. It does have a non-replaceable battery which has its pros and cons. Considering the size and build quality, I consider it a reasonable option at the $25 current Amazon price. There are other similar lights available at a lower price but I really don't think they're as well built and as sturdy. This one really looks like it will last.

I really like this light. What sets it apart from so many other “smart” flashlights is that it remembers what mode you had it on last time. If you had it on low or high or red or flash, come back tomorrow and turn it on and it will start out on the same level.

The light has a GREAT range, from discrete low to blinding bright. Mercifully, the blink mode is at the very end of the selections, so you rarely have to endure it. (honestly…who ever needs a blink mode?).

The red is effective for low-light night activities where you want to preserve you vision for stargazing, navigation, etc.

There is a “breathing” mode, where the light fades in and out at a relaxed breathing pace. This is probably useless for most people, but could be a fantastic tool with anyone with anxiety issues or similar who realize when they need a little help settling down.

I tested the battery life on high and low settings. On high (not the hidden “turbo” extra-brite setting), it lasted about 3 hours.

On low, it lasted about 20 hours.

Charging from 0 to 75% took 65 minutes. (Sorry, I didn’t track it closely to full charge, but assume onset two hours)

All in all, the brightness, battery life, and charge rate are astounding. I grew up cherishing D-cells for my incandescent floodlights, so this is nothing short of magic.

The physical construction is impressive. Very versatile, with a magnet embedded in the rotating bracket. It comes with a caribeaner, perfect for hanging from a backpack, branch, or in a tent.

Five stars…highly recommend.
