I've used this head torch for night walking, bunkhouse sleeping, and over a whole weekend underground camp and have been extremely impressed with it. The wide flood light is so well suited to moving around camp and its switch settings (beginning on lowest brightness) ideal for not blinding everyone else whenever you turn it on; plus the battery lasted the whole weekend use (mainly on medium brightness setting). (The fact I could put AAA batteries in it if necessary is a massive selling point for use away from charging options). Then there's the shockingly powerful bright main beam for when you need some distance vision, amazing from such a tiny, light unit. Love it, great work Klarus.

This lamp is great for walking, hiking, strolling or walking the dog. Because it is so light, it can be easily stowed away when not in use. My husband grabs it when he has to get firewood from the shed in the evening or when he wants to keep an eye on the meat when grilling in winter, and both hands are free to turn the grilled food and carry it into the warm kitchen. And when we go on holiday, the lamp (or another one) goes on board our motorhome.

I have been using headlamps for decades on my camping trips - for activities in the dark and even as a reading light. I have now moved away from battery operation and use the charging option via USB cable.
